Charities
The Color Tour has given away over $30,000 to local charities and Right to Ride organizations over the years. 2008 Charities Were:
- Colorado Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition
The Colorado Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition
is an umbrella group of the OHV Clubs in Colorado. They
fight the good fight to keep roads and trails open to
all. They are very active in safety and education as
well. They originated the "Stay The Trails" campaign,
an educational program to encourage riders to stay on
the legal trails and roads. COHVCO is active in trail
building and maintenance, plus education in how to do
both.
-
Chaffee County Search & Rescue
This is an all volunteer organization with no county funding. Their dedicated members train and volunteer their own vehicles and gas to rescue those in need. 2007 donations went toward purchase of new radios.
-
St. Elmo Restoration Project
Undertaken through Buena Vista Heritage, they are working to replace some buildings destroyed in a catastrophic fire a few years ago and have restored others.
